To get involved with our rescue, please fill out the application below and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are looking to fill some very specific volunteer roles right now. Below are titles and descriptions:
Manages transfer of dogs from shelters and owner surrenders into observation at the President's residence (On rare occasion a dog may be transferred directly to an experienced foster home). May transport dogs to Rescue’s designated veterinarian(s) for treatment. Must have valid driver’s license and a vehicle capable of transporting crated dogs. Set up transports or transport trips outside of the local area.
Works with Intake Director and Foster Director.
Will shadow person currently handling this role until able to work independently.
Screens potential foster homes by performing vet checks and home visits. Gets dogs from designated individuals into foster homes, after dogs are medically treated. Announces available foster dogs via Facebook Fosters group and by email/phone call to those not in group.
Ensures that foster home completes goal sheet. Check in with the fosters bi-monthly to get a report as to their progress.
Must have strong people skills (prefer someone who has managed volunteers before) and be very breed savvy. Ability to apply written guidelines to a variety of situations and make decisions that align with established policies.
Goal of position is to have someone who screens and manages individuals and families wanting to foster our dogs, creates and maintains appropriate paperwork for the situations, and provides follow up at predetermined intervals. They must be able to either go help the foster if a problem comes up or call an officer (later another board member) to go. The Director would also be a source of support.
Works with Intake Director, Transport Director, and Adoption Director. Provides updates to Social Media Director

Screens potential adoptive homes. Performs vet checks and home visits. Matches available dogs to available adoptive homes. Provide adoptive home recommendations to the Executive Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) who have 48 hours to accept or reject the recommendation. Must have strong people skills (prefer someone who has managed volunteers before) and be very breed savvy. Ability to apply written guidelines to a variety of situations and make decisions that align with established policy.
Goal of position is to have someone who screens and manages individuals and families wanting to adopt dogs, creates and maintains appropriate paperwork for the situations, and provides follow up at predetermined intervals. They must be able to either go help the adopted dog if a problem comes up or call an officer to go. The coordinator would also be a source of support for adoptive homes.
Works with Transport Director and Foster Director. Provides updates to Social Media Director on availability of dogs in the rescue.
Social Media Director:
Manages Facebook page, Instagram, and other social media outlets. Encourages conversation among online community. Receives weekly updates on Fosters, Available dogs and upcoming events. Ensures that Webmaster has the most current information on these items.
Fundraising and Events Director:
Research possible fund raising activities such as Bingo night, paint night, etc. Sets up other ways to raise money like with Kroger receipts, Amazon smile, and Amazon business with items on a wish list, etc.
Seeks opportunities for rescue to attend: Working with President and Volunteer Director, determines how many people are needed and what skills they should have. Events may consist of: Booth at larger events, Independent fundraisers such as bingo or paint night. Ensures that Volunteer Coordinator is provided information about events no less than 14 days (preferably more) in advance of the event.
